Amazing spot right by the river !!! One of those homey spots where they treat you like family food was delicious just what I needed after my past days in crater lake national park and my 25 km hiking across it !!! The spot and decor and view is worth checking out !!! Good fair priced and portioned was the food !!! It’s a must if you are stopping in Shady Cove !!!

If you are traveling through or just out for family time Mac's Diner serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. And this building sits right on the Rogue River so the views are awesome. People fishing or rafting or tubing make you want to join them.

I always take my visiting friends from out of town to this fun and interesting place. The food is good, location is beautiful with the closeup view of the Rogue River. The 50’s decor takes you back in time while you enjoy your tasty meal.

Comfortable, great view, food is great, service is good. I never really get the 50’s thing but if you’re into it, this is the place for you. I noticed that some of the photos need some cleaning. There’s smudges and even someone’s lips marks on one photo that is kind of gross.

Staff rude to other customers and stated "everyone is saying that now" when they said they can't wear a mask due to a health condition. Another staff member stepped in. Unable to get service because no reservation so cannot say how the food was.

Ate here during my 1st trip ever to Oregon. The food was great but best of all is the location. All dining seats have a view of the river..and this place is right on the bank of the water. I was there in winter but I'm told as soon as the weather warms up the outside seating is fantastic, so...im making another trip to Oregon soon and this place is definitely on my list to stop and eat. By the way...the menu is EXTENSIVE so be prepared to tell your waitress to bring you a beverage it could take a while to decide..they also have a full bar!! The French Dip Sandwich was GREAT!!

Just came in for a drink. We couldn't go on the deck in the back because there was all of these June bugs or something that were in massive amounts. Aside from that the place is pretty cool and eclectic inside with a retro feel. We just snacked on a basket of french fries and onion rings which were excellent! The drinks were cheap for happy hour. I'm sure this place is excellent in the summertime and the food that I saw on people's plates looked awesome

I have eaten there 4-5 times now. The atmosphere is actually very nice. 3 times we left with the overall attitude that the food was just average and not worth the $45 (with tip). I had a barely flavorful French dip once and those should be bursting with flavor plus it wasn't super tender. Now, all that said, the last time we went the food was improved and very nearly worth the bill. We will give it another try some day

Well... looks like I found my favorite spot to visit in Shady Cove. You can eat your food while watching the water go by on the river. In fact, it is RIGHT on the river.This restaurant is amazing. It is meticulously clean and decorated in a Twin Peaks type of decor being half-lodge and half-50's diner. And speaking of Twin Peaks: Mac's Diner must be the place where pies go to die. We ordered the apple cinnamon pie ala mode and it was a HUGE slice of the most delicious pie we have had in Southern Oregon. It came in what looked like a cast iron fajita type pan, overflowing. There were three of us there and we could barely finish it, and probably wouldn't have were it not so delicious.The food was fresh, very well cooked and savory, and the staff is amazingly friendly. If you are in Shady Cove, you owe it to yourself to check it out. I promise you wont be disappointed.

I should have taken photos of the food and views!!! We stayed in Shady Cove over the 4th and ate here 3 times! Everything was outstanding including the service. The wings are a must and they served the thickest yummiest bacon ever! So many options and nothing disappointed. Signed Happy Belly.

The food was very good. It was relaxing. Loved being next to the river and watching the rafters drift by. The waitress was slow, hard to get her attention ever while ordering. She left to help someone else in the middle of us ordering. That wouldn't have been an issue if she was the only one working. However, she left to ring someone up in the middle of our order. Other than that the place was clean. Food was good. Everyone was follow the mask mandate.
